Football a Global Phenomenon - Brand Fifa

Hi people , last night I was watching this game between Mexico and Germany . Hell of a thriller it was . Well I am not a sports columnist , so I will refrain myself from going into the details of the match ( provided of the fact , am so desperate to talk about it :-) ) . While spectating the match , I saw something bigger , something more gripping than the constant counter attacks  . There was something that caught my attention apart from the game . Yes , I am talking about the millions of fans and spectators around the globe . The emotions and drama associated with the viewers all acrossss the world . Why are people so much attached to this game ??? Okay , one possible reason that comes to our mind is patriotism , just the fact that your country is playing out there , and you want to see your nation lifting the trophy on this grand stage . But , there are around 1.03 Billion people out there , who are mad about this sport , I guess everybody’s country aint have qualifieded for the world cup ?? What drives them to see this sport ??? 

So lets analyse the real reason behind the craziness about this sport . The above reason about patriotism would just encourage 30% of football fans to see this sport . So it cant be the major reason behind this global sensation . I figured out , FIFA has really played smart and their marketing stratergies are a real marvel. They have created this Brand FIFA , the whole FIFA inc. 

I have decoded 6 reasons , why this sport is a worldwide heartthrob - 

First -

 is the Video Game they          

develop each year in association with EA .  Yes , they directy tapped into the youth market , with this move of theirs . They presented Football as a strategic , thrilling game with spectacular real like graphics and gameplay . Football is one of the most difficult games , as it not only requires strategic thinking , but also extreme fitness . A video game where  there is no requirement for fitness ,intellect and inderstanding of the game was enough and play with the world class players was a delight to experience .Even the non football lovers got into love with this , because now football was made more like a game of chess . And the football playing kids by default got in love with the video game , as now they could control their favourite players and score goals with them. So it enthralled, and got attatched with every kid in the world . The proof of this is , FIFA 18 which got released recently has already sold 10 Million Units! This video game is so plopular , that the word “ FIFA “ is now more often used for the video game than the federation itself. So this made the craze for the game to grow leaps and bounds .

 Second -

 I can think of is , football is active throughout the year in the form of chamoions league , LA Liga , Copa Del ray ,premier league and what not … offering the viewres somthing new every time , keeping the viewers in for a constant treat throughout the year . 

Third- 

The Money associated with the game is huge , there are huge clubs , which also have their own marketing strategies in place , hefty transfer amount being paid to the players . Which potrays football as a charismatic sport . Huge salary

slips just add more style and glamour to the sport . Players have a luxurious and dapper life ,  make the people crave to be a footballer . So many football star are a youth icon because of their rag to riches story , and their now glamourlous life . There are so many clubs , newses of player transfers , and stuff like this just keep the viewers on the edge always . 

Fourth -

There is always a fresh and neoteric vibe attatched with the game . The average age of footballers is 25 ...so young. Mostly players get retired by they are 33 ,or max by 35. With new young talent players coming each year , just keeps the sport young and there is always a young dynamic vibe linked with it always . 

Fifth -

Unpredictable conclusions , just keep the game more exciting and thrilling . Any team can win on any day . I will not say football is about luck , I will rather put it , its about how lucky your stratergy was that day , provided you have talented players who can implement the plan as per expectations . eg : Unlike cricket , where Afghanistan , iran , zimbawe .. can never defeat world class teams like India , Australia etc . But in football , we have live examples in front of us : Mexico 15 places below germany defeated the defending champions , the World No.1 Team . Roma defated Barcelona in UCL . Forcing viewers to see and support every match of their favourite team. And to see winings like these is a delight for every sports lover .This point just highlights the power of football.

Sixth-  

Last but not the least , the sport football itself . Credit to the game , 90 minutes of thrill , foul ,free kicks , penalty , attacks , counter attacks .. making it one hell of a game .
